JYU Open University hosts Staff Visit Weeks several times throughout the academic year.

Application instructions

To make the most of your visit with JYUOpen, we advise you to plan out how you wish your visit to contribute to your professional development.

Please notify us in advance of the desired content and targets for your visit.

Do note that we will need to negotiate and confirm the details of your programme together with you before you send us the Erasmus + Mobility Agreement.

Staff Visit Weeks for the academic year 2023–2024

  • 13–17 November 2023 (week 46)
  • 29 January – 2 February 2024 (week 5)
  • 3–7 June 2024 (week 23)
  • 11–15 November 2024 (week 46)

Our signature on the Erasmus+ Mobility Agreement functions as the confirmation of our approval of the dates and content of the mobility. A separate invitation letter is not required.

Please note that applications are welcomed and processed all through the year. 

Please send your application no later than 6 weeks before the start of the Staff Visit Week in question.

Afternoon: Welcoming reception at the Ruusupuisto Building

Morning: Presentation on the Higher Education sector in Finland (Historical overview)
Afternoon: Presentation of the JYU and JYUOpen
Evening: Welcoming dinner offered by the Open University

Morning: Visitors' presentations on their own organisations
Afternoon: International projects and possible cooperation options

Morning: Presentation on E-xcellence label, the utilisation of Moodle, guidance practices and pedagogical background at JYUOpen
Afternoon: Possibility to organise your own meetings at JYU

Morning: Programme will be planned based on visitors' requests
Farewell coffee/tea
