The registration is open until 20th May.

In Finland we trust in student-centered learning and collaboration. Our education has long valuable roots, but we also prepare for the future. One of the basic principles on our basic education is that it offers everyone equal opportunities to study regardless of financial and social background. Instead of comparison and competition, we believe and focus on guiding and supporting students.

The goal of the Finnish basic education is to support students’ balanced growth and to provide them the skills and knowledge needed in life. Key elements of the Finnish basic education policy include life-long learning, quality, autonomy, well-being and equality.

At our open university MOOC on the success story of Finnish basic education (1 ECTS) you will learn more about these operational principles and structures of our basic education. You will understand the backgrounds of the basic education and also its role in the future.
