One face-to-face meeting is enough – JYU took part in international project

The ONE project proved that an international project can be successful even when only one transnational meeting is held during its course. The work resulted in an environmentally sustainable operating model for international projects, which will be introduced 27 September at the University of Jyväskylä.

The sole face-to-face project meeting of the ONE Meeting project was held in FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany, on 28 to 29 June 2022.

Project partners from the University of Jyväskylä, FernUniversität in Hagen, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, the University of Milano-Bicocca, Eucen, Canice Consulting, and Momentum all gathered together to finalise project videos and to discuss the upcoming final seminars of the project.

The ONE Meeting project has resulted in a new operating model, whereby international projects only required one face-to-face meeting within the project's lifespan. Typically, an international project would entail several meetings around Europe.

The new model and its emphasis on the efficient use of digital tools serves to ease the burden imposed on the environment by transnational travel and promotes sustainability in international projects.
