Our open university course “Introduction to Digital Competences for Educators” helps you to develop your ICT skills and provides a wide-ranging introduction into educators' digital competences.

Join our online course Introduction to Digital Competences for Educators (5 ECTS) to develop your pedagogical skills and your ability to use digital technologies in education. The course includes many important and topical themes from learning community and data protection to online motivation.

After the course, you will be able to use different digital technologies for communication, collaboration and professional development to enhance inclusion and learner’s active engagement.

You will also be able to identify special need of your students, employ accessibility and provide personalized pathways in a motivating and engaging way to support learning.

During the course you will study both independently and with the other course participants at Moodle learning platform using different course materials from online lectures to reading assignments.

Introduction to Digital Competences for Educators is a 100 % online course so you can participate from anywhere in the world as long as you can access the internet. You get advice, guidance and support during the course, which will enhance your learning process.

The course is the first module of our Digitally Competent Educators short learning programme, which helps to develop educators’ digital competences regardless of their entry level skills. This module is developed and implemented jointly by the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) and the FernUniversität in Hagen (Germany).
