Study instructions

Studies at the Open University may consist of separate courses or whole study programmes. Whole study programmes are offered in Finnish. Almost all of the subjects and courses available in English are studied through distance learning. You can study conveniently from wherever you are without an obligation to travel anywhere! Finnish language courses are offered as contact teaching.

Open University teaching corresponds to university teaching in quality and standard. You can complete either individual courses in English or a whole study programme in Finnish. Please note that you cannot get a diploma or complete an academic degree at the Open University.

The following pages briefly outline the more general aspects of our studies. In addition, the online course environment (like Moodle) contains the guidance for your study assignments, the required reading, and so on.

In case of more specific questions regarding your studies, such as difficulties understanding the instructions or problems with finishing your assignments, please contact your course lecturer for guidance and support. They are here for you. You will find your lecturer’s contact information from our staff listing.
